General Customer CommentsTalk about variety! From a simple city hotel in Playa del Carmen to the picturesque hotel in the tiny fishing village San Felipe, then a beautiful hacienda in Chichen Itza and the crisp & clean beach cabana in Tulum, it was always exciting, surprising and above all lots of fun. Thanks again for your great travel suggestions and excellent organization! Greta and WillyIt allowed us to visit the places we wanted to in a relatively short amount of time (good route-planning) as lots of small group tours companies only offer longer trips. You also have more freedom than on more organised tours meaning that you can explore for yourselves and fit your trip in better with your flight times. Also, it was reasonably priced! Sarah and Ken |

General Comments continued...What a fantastic experience our holiday in Mexico has been. The hotels were all great and the car hire was perfectly organised. The hotels in Palenque and Chichen Itza especially were amazing. Our four days in Isla Holbox were a wonderful way to end our holiday and I can certainly recommend the little bungalows near the beach, as well as the Whale Shark tour. Driving through this part of Mexico yourself is definitely a bonus as you can stop off for a break wherever and whenever you like. It was a great experience! Rob and MonicaWe liked all of it. Hard to pick one favourite part. Highlights were: Hotel in Puebla, Visiting the Aztec/Mayan sites, Indigenous village trip in San Cristobal, street party in Merida. Andrew and Colette |

Jungles, Temples and Waterfalls We got up at the crack of dawn in Palenque to visit the jungle ruins. More beautiful than all the other ruins we’ve seen. All the buildings still intact, surrounded by jungle and you can climb them. Fantastic! Afterwards finally managed to spend some time relaxing in our bungalow before visiting the enormous waterfall in the afternoon. It swelled even more due to the tropical shower we got caught in while we were there. We didn’t let it stop us though and it was a beautiful sight to see this powerful waterfall with all the mist rising up from it. We walked behind the waterfall and got even more soaked. Luckily the sun came out again so we managed to spend some time admiring the view and reading a book before heading back to the hotel. Mary.We loved the trip in Palenque to the ruins and waterfalls. A great mix of history and natural beauty. Sarah and Ken |

El Mundo MayaWe finally arrived at our beautiful colonial hotel in Antigua after a day of torrential rain. But the weather cleared just when we headed out to explore the town! Antigua is a wonderful university town where lots of foreigners come for Spanish courses. It gives the place a very relaxed atmosphere, together with the beautiful colonial buildings and the ruins of buildings that didn’t survive the many earthquakes. All of this amounted to yet another fantastic day! Diana |
Bathe With the Pink FlamingosAfter picking up the rental car with a full tank (for just 15 pounds!) we left Playa del Carmen. We chose the libre-route so we can drive via Tulum, Coba, Valladolid and Tizimin and enjoy the scenery. The butterflies! First we had some lunch before boarding the boat. You can’t get shrimp fresher than this! Yummmm… The nature reserve with it many bird species was beautiful. We also spotted a type of racoon. At the furthest point of the trip, we spotted flamingos taking a dip in the salt water pool. The water keeps you afloat whether you want to or not, because it's five times saltier than sea water. It was a weird experience, especially the mud mask. It was hilarious but worth it. |

Northern Yucatan TrailWe arrived at Chichen Itza in the sweltering heat. We took a taxi to our resort where we had our own little bungalow where we can chill out on the veranda with a Sol beer. In the evening there’s a light show in Chichen Itza which, incidentally, is just a 5 minute walk from the hacienda. We took a gamble and headed to the ruins in between the showers. When the light show finished at 7.45pm we walked back to the hacienda for a delicious dinner. Martin |
Mexico Travel Plan staffWe were pleased that we were contacted after leaving an email message. We have experienced other companies who don't get in touch! We thought Kieran Maartens was very helpful and knowledgeable. He was also able to answer questions on 'tips' like what luggage would be best to take. Sarah and KenThe phone and e-mail contact I had with Kieran Maartens was excellent. Always helpful and informative and very responsive. Thank you Kieran. Frank and Diane Even when we missed the first day because of a problem with our flight we thought it was well planned and organized. I was impressed by the follow up from the agency in Mexico to ensure we were ok the whole time. Lynn and Pierre |
