Mexico car hire - VW Beetles If you think of cars and Mexico, many people think VW Beetles. The photo may look romantic, but comfortable driving it's not! Distances on your self-drive trip round the Yucatan can be pretty long and the Beetle has no air-conditioning (except the window), little room, poor suspension and it's pretty noisy. For us, the Beetle didn't pass the test for a comfortable self-drive trip around Mexico. The luggage compartment (under the bonnet!) is very small and that's definitely a handicap because you don't want to have to store all your bags on the back seat in plain sight. This is why we recommend booking at least a category A car, or preferably a category C car for your car hire Mexico. |
